Hi

I have a Java class in which I have an attribute

private Object packageContent ;

This is mapped in the database(Oracle) as a CLOB.

In Java I have annotated it as

@Lob
@Column(name="PKG_CONTENT_LOB")
private Object packageContent ;

Hibernate it is trying to retrieve this as a Blob and failing. I cannot change the type from Object to Char[], String, java.sql.Clob or any other type.

How can I force Hibernate to recognise this is a CLOB

Thanks in advance
