In annotation how to specify cascade = none. I don't want to update the children/associated object. How to do that?

this is the default, so unless you specify a cascade in you association, you're fine

I am using 3.2.0.GA. The child object will be updated even i did not set any cascade there. Why?

Is it because i am using spring hibernateTemplate? It is many to one relationship with no bidirection mapping.
