In a JPA environment, with the latest Hibernate, what is the correct way to persist simple 'string types' like URL or UUID as strings in the database. Do I jave to use Hibernate specific extensions to do this?

S.

You might need a UserType implementation
@Type()

but try @Type(type"string") first
