I have just started to test the "Hibernate Annotations 3.0 Preview beta 1" and I find it very useful to being able to use EJB3.0 annotations with Hibernate 3.0!

I however have one question that I can't find an answer to and that is how you can override annotations with settings in a config-file.

The most obvious use of this is to be able to change the “physical mapping” in terms of table names and maybe also column names once you go to acceptance test and/or production without being forced to recompile the code.

How can that type of requirements be handled with Hibernate annotations?

Regards,

Ok, so I can stop looking for a solution ;-)

More important: Are there any plans for making it possible to do something like that in future releases of Hibernate annotations?

Regards,

Definitely. it is expressed in the EJB3 spec, and will be integrated to Hibernate Annotation
