Hi!

I've just read the second EJB 3.0 draft for entity beans, and downloaded the "3.0 beta 1 Preview" of Hibernate to check it out.

However, I just can't find any implementation of the EntityManager? Maybe I got it all wrong, but I get the impression that all implementations that claims to implement the EJB 3.0 spec, needs to let its users get an EntityManager.

So, where is it?

Mats

For now, the EntityManager is only available as part of the JBoss EJB 3.0 previews, and not packaged with Hibernate.

Oh, I see. When will this be fixed?

Future versions of JBoss will, of course, be EJB 3.0 compliant, i.e. support the required annotations and supply an implementation of the EntityManager.

The question for me is, will HIBERNATE be EJB 3.0 compliant? It can't be that, unless it also ships with an implementation of the EntityManager!

So, from what I can tell, Hibernate will NOT be EJB 3.0 compliant! Right?

The standalone version of the Ejb3 EM is currently being specified by the EG. You'll have to wait for the next EJB3 spec draft.
