Hey guys,

I'm pretty new to Hibernate and am upgrading our app from Hibernate 2.0 to Hibernate 3.0, so there may be a solution to this so obvious that no one bothered to even list in in the Newbie FAQ. If this is the case, remember, patience and understanding for our ignorant friends is a virtue. ;)

Question:
I noticed in the changeover from Hibernate 2.0 to Hibernate 3.0 that Criteria.getCriteriaClass() method has been nuked. Is there replacement functionality in Hibernate 3.0 or some sort of workaround?

Found the solution. Sorta. It's of the workaround variety (as opposed to the built-in kind). Just use aliases everywhere and use getAlias() for your "type checking". I suspect the ease of this varies from codebase to codebase, but for us it wasn't that bad.

I guess I'll be keeping those nonplayoff bound Lakers tickets after all.
