Hi,
Im new at Hibernate and Hibernate Search.
I need to store the search index (files such as .html .jsp and database content) in a database table, not storing the results in a file.

By doing a quick search I found the Lucene JDBCDirectoryProvider, is that the best tool to do that?
What are the other options to store the index results in a database?

Im using Spring and Hibernate.

Do you really need that? performance will be much slower.

JDBCDirectoryProvider is an option, but I'm not sure if it's still maintained and where you could find support for it; I have no direct experience with it so I couldn't give you more hints than "try it".

An alternative solution would be to use an Infinispan Directory, on which you can configure a cacheloader to store in your database. This would certainly be faster but might be overkill as it's main purpose is to enable replication of the index across multiple server nodes.
