Hibernate Shards downloads are really old. Download page recommends to go to Hibernate Search.

Is Hibernate Shards deprecated? if true, which is the alternative?

Thanks.

yes we didn't spend much time on Shards lately; the answer to your question depends on what you're looking for.
If you're needing it because of extreme scalability requirements, we're now working on HibernateOGM - no releases yet, but feedback on the experiments are welcome, we're going to demo it at JBossWorld, Boston in May.

If you're looking for multi tenancy, then many options are already available in Hibernate 3 (core, no need for extra modules), and more improvements in this area are coming with Hibernate4 (first alpha released, but multi tenancy features didn't make much progress).

Have a look at http://in.relation.to/Bloggers/HibernateAndMultitenancyWebinar and http://in.relation.to/Bloggers/MultitenancyInHibernate

Hi,
sorry the sourceforge download page is a bit misleading, but still it's correct.
On top of the page it will always show the last thing we released, across all projects. In the center area of the page you hage links to download the lastest shards release.
