Hi,

In Chapter 2 section 2.4.4 of Hibernate in Action, the book reads:

Quote:
We recommend that you try to configure Hibernate programmatically (using the Configuration object) before you try to run Hibernate as a JMX service.

Does that mean that when using JBoss:
1) the Configuration object approach is preferable to the JMX service approach and that the JMX approach should be used as a last resort?
or
2) newer users of Hibernate should learn Hibernate using the Configuration object approach, and then, once they are more proficient, move on to the JMX service approach?

Thanks in advance for any clarification/help.

Rich

It means that at the time of writing the usage of JMX was something experienced Hibernate users should attempt, not beginners. Thats all.
