I have been playing and trying to learn by using the CA example download.
I bought the book and have made bloody good progress in 48 hrs.

But.......

The CA example junit tests will not run with mysql. The reason for this seems to be a circualr dependency on foreign key contraints for user and billing details. So the teardown of the test fails. This causes all further errors in the rest of the suite. The only option is to drop the db and recreate. Ive seen some other posts which stink of this but didnt seem to have gone this far in find the real cause. So in short

Even though i dit get the error on the subselect hsql for the tests I commented this out to help me get a good run.

Can I use MYSQL with the CA example?

If so which versions are supported. And is there a config for preventing this failure to drop tables with a dialect dependent cascade option?

It works for me on MySQL 4.0.17 without the subselects. In any case, you should have more luck with a better DBMS, such as PostgreSQL.
