I am attempting to generate a template (for doing certain types of deep cloning in a persistent object) and, after looking through the distributed ones and searching around on google, I am still unable to find any API documentation or similar for the objects that are available in the templates.

For example, the pojo object, what type is it? What about the clazz object?

In general I have found documentation for the freemarker language itself, but not for the way it is used in Hibernate. I've probably missed something, though and I'm very sorry if I have.

The template variables are not thoroughly documented as of yet. There is some preliminary information in this thread.

It is true further documentation would be better. Having said that the variable s are setup in the Java code. Might be the best place to look after you have read that thread.
