Hello,

I get problems when I install hibernate-tools-3.0.0.alpha4a on a fresh Eclipse 3.1 with WebTools 0.7RC1. Trying to create a new Dynamic Web Project in Eclipse results in the stack trace below in the Eclipse logs.

Prior to copying the plugin files from hibernate-tools-3.0.0.alpha4a.zip, everything worked fine. I have tested both overwriting and leaving original wtp files, when copying the hibernate tools plugin files. The Eclipse install is completely fresh as is the workspace, with only the required dependencies added: emf-sdo-xsd-SDK-2.1.0.zip, GEF-SDK-3.1.zip and JEM-SDK-I20050623.zip.

I have not found any documentation on what version of the WTP the hibernate tools are supposed to work with.

Jonas

Thanks. I couldn't find this info in the release notes or elsewhere. Until the next release, I'll just work with two separate Eclipse installs.

is it possible to back out the hibernate plugin gracefully? i am familiar w/installing the hibernate plugin via the update manager, so i am not sure of what plugin/feature directories that are replaced or overwritten.

any help would be greatly appreciated as this has hampered my ability to build web services from my application model. =/

thank you,

chad

no - eclipse does not have an uninstall feature but especially WTP does not provide proper versioning so not really practical to do anything else then wipe any WTP related and put a new one on top.

Please back up your eclipse if you are going to install Hibernate Tools.

Correction: "Please back up your eclipse if you are going to install any plugin" ...it is not hibernate tools specific.
