I'm trying to use the hbm2java Ant task in IDEA. I've downloaded Hibernate v3.1 and the Hibernate Tools (3.1 beta 4 - is there really no released version for this?). Hibernate Tools leaves me stumped - I had expected to find a jar file that contained net.sf.hibernate.tool.hbm2java.Hbm2JavaTask but instead I see only a bunch of Eclipse-related executable jars, making me wonder if I've downloaded the wrong thing.

~plugins\org.hibernate.eclipse_3.1.0.beta4\lib\tools\hibernate-tools.jar looked like what I was after but its contents differ from what I was expecting.

Has everything changed between 2.1 and 3.1?
If so, could someone point me to some coherent 3.1 documentation please.
Should I ignore the detail in "Hibernate in Action" as it relates to 2.1 not 3.1?

yes, the tools has changed packag names since hibernate 2, just like the core and it is also a different/improved toolset....so read the reference doc to use it. the parts in hia is for hibernate 2 not hibernate 3.
