Using Eclipse 3.1.2, installing Hibernate Tools B4 and everything appears to be in order. However when I continue and activate the MyEclipse plugin, the Hibernate Tools options disappear. The plugins still show as installed and active, it's just that all the menu options and the Hibernate perspective no longer show. Is this a known conflict between these two plugins? I really like the Hibernate Tools features, and also use the MyEclipse J2EE functionality so I would *love* to have them both present and functional.

Any comments or suggestions on how to get these two to co-exist would be greatly appreciated.

Peace.

myeclipse uses their own version of wtp and is thus in practice incompatible with all eclipse WTP based plugins such as hibernate tools.

the latest myeclipse contains an earlier version of hibernate tools which they have "ported" to their own version of wtp - but it is an *old* version AND it does not expose all the features the real hibernate tools has.

I have been talking with them and hopefully they will move to wtp 1.0/1.5 soon where it then will be possible to use myeclipse and hibernate tools together.

Hi.

I am having the same problem and I am NOT using MyEclipse. I am using Eclipse 3.1.2, unzipped the tools into the plugins and features folder, but the tools aren't appearing.

Thanks,
Karl

as per the docs:

if you unzip the plugins then remember to run eclipse -clean
