Okay lets try to throw some more details in to see if someone can help me
im using

OS: WindowsXp Sp2
HIBERNATE : Ver 3
HIBERNATE TOOLS : Ver 3.1.0 Alpha 5
DATABASE : Derby (I dont think this is relevant)
URL DRIVER DIALECT : DB2 Driver provided by CloudScape (neither this)
ECLIPSE : Ver 3.1
ADDITIONAL PLUGINS : Visual Editor 3.1 (With Gef and Emf)

I Begin with a fresh installation of Eclipse 3.1
Then i copy HibernateTools Alpha 5 accordingly over Plugins and Features
i start using Eclipse not problem at all, i open my Hibernate perspective
throw some HQL arround no problem.

Afterwards i dowload from the update site SubClipe ver 0.9.33
this is an Subversion plugin for eclipse. I download the local update
site and proceed to install it using eclipse, i even leave my hibernate
perspective open while doing this. I do everythin step by step
now here is what happens next time i open eclipse :

"Unable to read workbench state. Workbench Layout will be reset"

and hibernate perspective is gone. there is not item labeled hibernate on the perspective open menu, no views either. just gone.

when i do the process the other way around first subclipse then hibernatetools i get the same result. any thoughts on this ??
