I'm using middlegen,hbm2jaja and xdoclet to generate pojos and mapping files in hibernate2.1.7

I'd like to go up to hibernate3 and would like to know if middlegen is currently supporting v3 output.

No. There has not been a release of middlegen for some time.
I was intending to do a release 'R6' on the hibernate downloads though I wanted to finish a small piece before I did that. Unfortuately, spare time is an issue at the moment. If you send me an email I can shoot you a prebuilt binary with the current state. It will also help me test it out. :-)
