Hi,

I am very new to hibernate. I have downloaded hibernate-2.1 and also hibernate-extensions-2.1.2 for Roundtrip Development Tools purpose.

I am working on Federo Linux v10

Can anyone suggest me how to set the classpath for hibernate tools & also for hibern8ide. Hibernate-extensions in thier /tools/bin/ folder, has 4 .bat files (class2hbm.bat, ddl2hbm.bat, hbm2java.bat, setenv.bat). In these .bat files, configuration has been set for windows environment. I would like to know how to use these .bat files in my Linux environment.

Also, in the hibernate-extensions folder, there are 2 folders, named as

- hibern8ide, which contains build.xml. Can anyone tell me, why they have provided the build .xml

- tools, which also contains build.xml. Can anyone tell me, why they have provided the build .xml

Finally, please help me regarding how to use the tools so that i can generate the database schema for my project.

System vary so much so setting the class path is an exercise for the reader but there are examples (some of which you have found). Many of the tools, in addition to an ablity to run as a process, have support for being run through the Ant build tool. Hence why you can see build.xml files - that method would be your best place to start.
