as far as I understood, David seems to be in charge of middlegen tool!
So my question is probably for him...

I've read I could customize the hbm.xml generation via a velocity file hibernate.vm. I can't find it! It's not in the distrib I got from SourceForge

I'd like to remove any length attribute generation (since i'm using a bottom-up approach and don't need it) and also to have the xml subelement generated on 1 line (and not one line per attribute) since my mappings becomes unreadable (to many fields in my tables...)
Plus some tweeking I haven't even thought of yet!

Where can I get this velocity file?
Will it allow me to do what I want?

The suggested release you use is the r4 release for the moment unless you requre all of the pugins then use the offical v2.0(vo/final) release.

Using r4 as the example - you will find the hibenate.vm file inside the middlgen-hibernate-plugin Jar. Its located under the middlegen\plugins\hibernate package/directory structure. Unzip/unjar this lib and edit the vm file (eg remove the references to length) and then package it up again.
