Not yet really.
What I have done so far is test the ideas on both a simple implementation or by extending Hibernate Validator.
I need to reconcile both approaches

I'm interested in seeing the code base.

There isn't a public source repository for the JSR or RI as of yet. Since the specification is currently in flux, I'm sure they're not going to release it until it becomes stable.

We are just working on an early implementation of the draft. The implementation is based on the validation framework we are using for some time now. We have put it as an open-source project at http://code.google.com/p/agimatec-validation/

You can use the JSR 303 APIs as far as they are specified.

Feedback is welcome, but the implementation and the spec are in still "under construction".

Best regards
Roman

AFAIK Everything is implementable as I have prototyped most of it (but never in one single project). Let me know if you see any issue in the spec (eg. group sequence is an area where I know some things must be clarified).

Might I suggest stickying this topic? Or adding the relevant information, as it becomes known, to the welcome topic?

I think lots of people are going to start wanting to know about current implementation status and the hibernate forum searching is problematic.

Also, what plans are there with regard to the Bean Validation spec and Hibernate Validator? Are there any plans to make HV a reference implementation similar to the Hibernate -> JPA relationship?

I thought I read something somewhere about a new project for a specification reference implementation that would be hosted on java.net? Is that getting off the ground soon?

The idea is to start for Hibernate Validator most likely. We need to decide on that in the next few weeks
