I've add hibernate-validator-4.0.2.GA.jar and validation-api-1.0.0.GA.jar to my classpath.
I can see they are been deployed under WEB-INF\lib but I still get the message
Hibernate Validator not found: ignoring

I'm using Hibernate 3.5 in JPA2 web application. I've read that all I need to do to enable hibernate validation is to put the jars in the classpath.

What am I missing here?

Could it be that the rest of your hibernate libraries are already contained in the JBoss server class path and thus the classloader does not see hibernate-validator and validation-api because they are in the webapp classloader?
