 Post subject: Criteria Joins on non-mapped properties

Is it possible to do a join on an entity thats mapped only on one end? I have two domain objects, Product and Special. A Special has a reference to a Product but a Product doesn't have a reference to all its specials. I need to find all products that have specials. Is this possible using Criteria ? Do all joins have to be done thru mapped properties?
