Hi,

does anybody know if there is an entity Manager out there which will take care of all CRUD-operations (opening session, transaction, e.g retrieving data, closing session etc.).

Well, the Castle-Windsor project has a nice NHIntegrationFacility, which does take care of configuring NH and setting up the session and stuff. This also features a Castle.Facilities.NHibernateIntegration.NHibernateGenericDao class, which offers all the basic CRUD operations.

In addion Billy McCafferty put up a nice introductional article on codeproject.com about NH best practices.
