Hibernate version: 1.2.1


I get some results from an informix database. All works fine. But there is a small painful behavior. The column in the database is defined by CHAR[50]. If I fetch a value from this column I get a string with 50 characters. If the value is shorter than 50 characters the rest is filled up with spaces. Is there a way to trim the result automatically or do I have to trim the results manually inside of my business code? I need only the value without the spaces behind.
