Batch unrelated selects?

I want to retrieve n number of unrelated objects from the database. Is there any way to batch the retrieval of them?

One of the things I love about NHibernate is how it generates specific SQL to do exactly what you want. It would be beautiful if I could combine the database calls into a single query for performance.

I checked the documentation, and Google, but couldn't find anything.

There's MultiQuery in the trunk, but nothing in 1.2.0 that I'm aware of.
