Can any body tel me whether I should use Nhibernate Or not.

I have 240 tables & 200 + Stored Procs in my existing application Database.

we are migrating to .Net.

1 Should I be using Nhibernate in such a situation .

2 Will it hamper the performance or will it enhance the performance ?

3 How efficient will it be?

4 Will it be easy to maintain such a huge database using NHibernate

Pls provide your usefull inputs on the same ....
