Is it absolutely impossible to use classes that implement IList for mapping to bags?

I need to use some class instead of interface for mapping since I pass the objects there and back via web service and serialization requries default constructor to exist for collections, which is not provided by IList, ISet etc. obviously.

I searched over but it seems everybody is fine with declaring their collections as interface, but how do I solve web service serialization problem?
