Hi,

I can't seem to find where the NHibernate roadmap is. The company I work with does not want to use NH until it has support for stored procs.

I know this is on the wish list, but I can't find out the schedule for this feature.

The project I'm on is an 18 month project so I'm thinking that the stored proc support will be available before we release.

Thanks in advance.

What is up with the NHibernate roadmap? It hasn't been updated since 2006. With Sergey's departure, and the most-voted outstanding JIRA issue being 20 months old and still unassigned, do we have any idea when more of the Hibernate 3.x features are going to be ported to NHibernate?

Our product is getting more and more hacked up by opposing forces in our company that want to go back to the days of straight SQL, and they're getting their chance due to the unfixed limitations in HQL. Others want to scrap NHibernate for DLinq just because it's from Microsoft and therefore better (or at least is guaranteed a future?)

Until the JIRA issues listed below are resolved, I'm fighting a losing battle to keep everyone in the office on board with NHibernate ...

You could always hire somebody (not me) to work on NHibernate if it's important to you and your company. Or do you expect the work to just be done for free if you complain loudly enough?

Nice thing about open source project, which I am sure you already know, is you can do something about it. If you need help getting started on digging into the NHibernate source code, ask for it on the development list and I am sure the other contributors would be eager to get more people involved.

If I can get another developer to work on these JIRA issues with me, I may just take a crack at it. Anyone interested in committing time to fixing NH-514 with me?

Still, these are not "new" features but just requests to port features that already exist in Hibernate 3.x. So, it would seem like someone who already works on both Hibernate and NHibernate could do the porting much more efficiently and quickly than someone who's never touched the internals of either ...

It may be too aggressive to try to fix NH-514 as a first crack at the NHibernate source code. In addition, it involves works in the parser, which is currently under some heavy duty overhaul if I am not mistaken.

I browsed around JIRA to find a simple issue that one may be able to work through on one's own, and the result is NH-1011. I described some steps to get started in the NHibernate source code in these couple of posts:

What are the chances we can hire someone on the Hibernate team to fix NH-514 and NH-1051? How would we go about arranging that?
