I am new to nHibernate and was wondering if there were any issues when retrieving and saving data from/to SQL 2005 data tables that have columns defined using the new XML data type.

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello
I am using Xml fields in Sql2005, and, so far I didn't see any problems. I am mapping Xml field to the string property using StringClob type. Also, I query Xml fields using Expression.Sql and Xquery expression.

HTH, Tom

Is there a way to map an XML data type from SQL2005 to an XmlDocument property that I have in my class?

I'm not sure about that, but you can always load XmlDocument from the string. Perhaps you can use private string field mapped to the db field, and public XmlDocument property which is loaded from this string on the first use. I'm only displaying Xml and not updating it in my application, so this was good enough and I didn't look deeper to it.

But, if you find the way, please post it here...
