Hello,

Our application is a Client/Server application. One of the requirements is, that the application should work with a 56k modem line. Because of this we have decided to treat our data in a document oriented style (like MS-Word) to reduce the number of database access and speed up the application (loading and saving data can be slow, but working with the data should be fast). So we have built a complex object hierarchy which consists of about 20 classes. We use the "lazy=false" attribute to ensure that the complete object hierarchy is loaded. To track changes we have implemented an auditing via database triggers. This leads me to our problem:

When we change just a few attributes in one of the classes, NHibernate does not only saves the changes made in this class. This makes our auditing concept unusable.

How does NHibernate detect which data has to be saved. Is there any way to tell NHibernate which data has to be saved other than saving each class separate?

Thanks for your help
Klaus

Check out this thread: http://forum.hibernate.org/viewtopic.php?t=961432

I think it might have an acceptable answer to your question and a solution.
