Although I read previous threads regarding encrypted database connection strings usage with NHibernate, I was not satisfied with the solutions presented regarding the safe storage and manipulation of the connection strings.

Since the new version will be specifically designed for .NET 2.0, maybe you could also provide native support for reading .NET 2.0 connection strings specified in app.config file including the encrypted variant. Would this be a big issue regarding the actual implementation?
