Hi, all

After some expirimenting with NHibernate at home, I finally managed to get NHibernate (1.0) into company I currently work for.

Now, not at home, starting to use NHibernate for larger applications I realise that creating the hbm.xml mapping files is "not really a challenging" task.

My question:
(I was most probably asked before but I can't find it.)
Is there a tool that can generate the hbm.xml mapping files for me from my c# classes (or from a .Net assembly).
The c# classes are also generated by the way.

This would really help me "sell" and promote NHibernate.

Thanks,
Marcel

Marcel,

What do you use for generating the classes? I have some CodeSmith templates that I use to generate both my classes and my mapping files. It's not quite what you're looking for, I realize, but it might be another way to get going quickly.

I would edit the templates for the class generator to generate ActiveRecord classes so that no *.hbm.xml files are needed, but maybe that's just me. :)

Hi all,
As extra info: The architects in the company I work for use a tool called "Select" for generating domain-classes (C#).
They consider moving to Enterprise Architect.

Thanks again,
Marcel
