Is there a way in HQL to retrieve the type of a property that is mapped with an <any> mapping as a scalar value?

I know that you can use the 'class' keyword in a WHERE clause, but it appears to be illegal in the SELECT clause.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Symon.
