Post subject: Cascading Save Question - Child creating new parent
PostPosted: Fri Jul 08, 2005 11:31 am
When you have a parent child (with all the unsaved-value and cascade settings made) --- is it possible to add a new parent and new child and then call the save on the CHILD and have it create the parent automagically? I am trying to do this and I am getting a transient instance exists while trying to flush error (meaning the parent wasn't saved).

I just want to make sure this is possible first before a spend a ton of time trying to track down the error.

well that didnt take long...

i had to add the cascade to the many-to-one element in the config as well... this allows the upward save....
