I have noticed that throughout the NHibernate code, the variable or parameter name "clazz" has been used to denote a class. I was just wondering why the c# facility which allows developers to escape protected keywords with an "@" prefix hasn't been utilised.

For example, the following declaration is quite legal:

public void MyMethod( System.Type @class )

The parameter appears as "class", not "@class", to all clients.

Just to think less and make less mistakes while porting from Java, I think :) For that matter, the better name for the parameter in .NET would be type, not @class.

Learn something new every day! Thanks! (I'm not a NHibernate developer, just wanted to thank you for your tip :) )
