My setting:

NHiberate 7.0
Oracle 9.2

mapping:

<timestamp name="TimeStamp" column="Update_Timestamp_FLD"/>


When a new object is initially saved, the Timestamp column is 1/1/0001, is it expected? I assume it will be filled with current time.
However, when the object is updated, it's filled with current time.

Any issues here?

I would say it works as expected. If you want the Timestamp to be initialized to current time, you can add initialization to your class (DateTime timeStamp = DateTime.Now;). But it will of course contain the time when the object was created, not when it was saved.
