 Post subject: Distributed Objects With Hibernate?

Hello!

Does NHibernate support solution 1) from http://www.hibernate.org/161.html or is it one of the Hibernate 2.1 features which NHibernate does not support?

NHibernate doesn't support select-before-update yet.

Lately many convenient features have shown up in NHibernate. Do you know if this particular feature may be hoped for in not so long time?

Just to be sure: Does NHibernate implement other convenient features for supporting specifics of distributed objects (as far as I know it does not)?

Well, it all depends on how much free time we have and that's very hard to predict. I would guess about two months, not because the feature itself is hard to implement, but because there are lots of other such unimplemented features. I created NH-282 to track select-before-update and planned it for 1.0, but this may change.

NHibernate implements optimistic concurrency mentioned on that page, custom persisters and interceptors are also supported. What other things are you concerned about?
