Does anyone know why the following doesn't works

return (from f in Session.Linq<obj1>()
where f.obj2.Id == id
select f).ToList();

whereas

return (from f in Session.Linq<obj1>()
where f.obj2 == obj2
select f).ToList();

works perfectly??

I want to select from the foreign key without having to pull back the child object and then search against that instead.
