je reste perplexe, je viens de faire mon propre test avec postgres et tout fonctionne.

1-Quel dialect utilises-tu?
2- peux tu copier coller le code java exact (gestion des transactions incluses et obtention de la session hibernate aussi) qui lance cette exception ?

comme je le disais en toute premiere reponse, utilise
type="true_false" et non type="boolean"
