 Post subject: Migrating from Hibernate 3.1.3 to later version

I have been asked to migrate existing server code from Hibernate 3.1.3 to a later version possibly 3.3.X.

We are using <property name="dialect">org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle9Dialect</property> - talking to a Oracle 10 database.

What i am worried about is it really worth upgrading? - is there any performance gains in doing this upgrade ?
The release notes don't seem to show any compelling reasons to make the move.
Interested in hearing other peoples thoughts.
