Your getting a ClassNotFoundException. Hibernate is trying to load your Event class and it can't be found on the runtime classpath. Check that your claspath is setup properly.

Thanks. Your reply caused me to realize that it was an IDE config issue -- outputting class files to the wrong dir.

I'm having the same issue and perhaps it may be resolved by your same solution. Where should we be outputting the class files to?
