I'm using hibernate-based JPA. I have an Oracle type of char(2) for a column in a table. What Java type should I map char(2) to? I tried with char[] and String and the exception is Caused by: org.hibernate.HibernateException: Wrong column type in HR.COUNTRIES for column COUNTRY_ID. Found: char, expected: varchar2(255 char)

Hibernate version: 3.3.1.GA
Full stack trace of any exception that occurs:
Name and version of the database you are using: oracle 10g xe

Thank you.
