Hi,

Throwing out a shout in the dark, but wondering if anyone has seen a project that essentially is an "OQL AdHoc Query Builder".

Basically, I'm looking for a web app that exposes all mapped Hibernate Objects, and then allows you to continuous "expand" the criteria based on children, properties, etc.

It seems that since a schema is mapped, and an object tree can be built, that it shouldn't be too much to construct via the Criteria API a custom query, and then display results.

Sorry if I haven't explained it fully, but basically "Crystal Reports for Hibernate".

Thanks in advance,
-joe

I'm researching along these lines right now, though we are using GORM,a layer on top of hibernate. Grails has a Hibernate Criteria Builder - http://grails.org/Hibernate+Criteria+Builder

This article's (http://www.javalobby.org/articles/hibernatequery103/) author was using JasperReports with Hibernate Criteria.

If there is nothing out there, it would seem like a huge potential.

Cheers, Tom.
