 Post subject: Mapping a URL class

One of the classes that I want to persist with Hibernate has a URL object as one of its fields. Do I need to transform this into a String, or is there a way to map the URL object?

You could write a custom UserType and persist the URL as a String (assuming a single string can represent accurately *all* the information in the URL instance).
