When will hibernate properly support generics? Eliminating unchecked warnings (not simply putting @SuppressWarnings) is simply good programming practise, because if you don't do it then you are just giving yourself a false sense of security.

If I take the Criteria and Query classes as an example, it is not possible to use them in a typesafe manner because the list method returns a raw List type.
