Hi all,

I'm trying to configure c3p0 with Hibernate Core 3.3.1.GA. According to the hibernate reference manual this is as simple as setting some configuration options in hibernate.cfg.xml. I have set the following:

<property name="hibernate.c3p0.idle_test_period">300</property>
<property name="hibernate.c3p0.min_size">1</property>
<property name="hibernate.c3p0.max_size">20</property>
<property name="hibernate.c3p0.timeout">5000</property>
<property name="hibernate.c3p0.max_statements">50</property>
<property name="hibernate.c3p0.acquire_increment">2</property>
<property name="hibernate.c3p0.validate">true</property>

When I start my program, the log outputs the following:

12:12:11,715 INFO DriverManagerConnectionProvider:64 - Using Hibernate built-in connection pool (not for production use!)

Why does hibernate ignore me wanting it to use c3p0?

I have used quite an amount of hours investigating this, with no results. According to the Internet, quite a lot of other people are also struggling with this..
