 Post subject: client program for hibernate and spring

I am new to hibernate.I working in a project which use Flex as front-end and spring,hibernate as back-end.The database connection details are configured in Application-context.xml. I need to write a client program,If i want to test my new hibernate method with out depend on Flex module, can anybody please help me out how to write a client program in this and how it'll access my hibernate API's.
