I'm trying to write a custom Id Generator, and it is not clear to me how I specify my generator using annotations. Various examples reference code like the following in XML

<id name="id" type="string" column="string_id">
<generator class="org.hibernate.YourCustomGenerator">
</generator>
</id>

But we don't use XML mappings, just annotations. The @GeneratedValue annotation doesn't accept a class name as far as I can tell.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
