Hi,

I've been reading Effective Java and Java Concurrency in Practice, and I'm gaining an appreciation for the advantages of immutable classes.

Are immutable entity classes at all compatible with Hibernate? Has anyone done this or seen any studies of it? Hibernate entities are basically JavaBeans, which are inherently mutable and of course, database access is all about manipulating state. I'm curious, though, if anyone has found a way to usefully combine these two ideas.

Thanks in advance.
