Hibernate version: 3.2.6.GA

Can somebody tell me the purpose of the 'owner' parameter defined for the method nullSafeGet() in UserType and CompositeUserType

I'm not able to determine this from the Javadoc.

When I run my own or various other UserType implementations through a debugger the argument for this parameter is consistently null.

Thankyou very kindly,

Jasper
