hello everyone!

i have one serious problem, I'd like to import data from an external system.
unfortunately the external system is not aware of my identifier and so hibernate is not able to differ between an import or an update.
is there a way to tell hibernate the update should happen with the unique key and not the identifier?
i also tried interceptors but with no success, it all depends on the id.
would you suggest different solutions?

thanks in advance
best wishes
chris
